Yes to all of this... and of course it's even worse for our kids who have very little visceral memory of life without it. I remember when my kiddos were 5, 6, 7, 8 and they would spend HOURS literally every day out in the yard or in the family room, just playing and bouncing on balls and dressing up. We tried to keep them off phones till 8th grade and man was that an uphill battle.
There are good uses for social media, but they are very slim and squished into the space that exists to drag us all back in! I hate it too. On the other hand, I am absolutely in my element working at the garden center with plants all day. It's heaven and I get paid for it!
